Homegrown Collective giveaway

The lovely Mitchell from The Homegrown Collective contacted me about giving away one of the April boxes "We All Started Someplace".

So, today, I have the sincere pleasure of offering one reader the chance to have the April collective box sent right to their house.  Let me tell you a bit more about what the lucky winner will receive!

"We all started someplace", a reference to the magical nature of the SCOBY Kombucha "starter". A S.C.O.B.Y. is a Symbiotic Culture OF Bacteria and Yeast. A simple natural fermented aged culture, made with pure water, sugar and black or green tea. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kombucha tea was referred to as the Tea of Immortality and the elixir of life. (Tsing Dynasty, China 250 BC)  Kombucha balances the Middle Qi (Spleen and Stomach). By aiding the stomach to better digest food and by assisting the spleen to deliver more nutrition, the body heals itself. Of course we just think it tastes great and is too expensive in the stores not to have the tools to make it yourselves - plus, #homegrown #tastesbetter!!!!) So in this months GREENBOX we provide you everything you need to make your own Kombucha at home.
1/2 Gallon Ball Jar
An Amazing SCOBY
2 Boosters
 - Relaxation & Meditation Blend
 - Health Fusion Immune Boost
Organic Ginger
Black Tea
and all the fixins (cloth covers, PH sticks, rubber bands, reusable muslin tea bags)

Hippy eye porn
So, how do you win?
1) Leave a comment and for the love of god, please include your email address or a way to get in touch with you!
2) In the comment, I desperately need you to tell me your favorite movie, and also the worst movie you've ever seen.  What does this information have to do with Kombucha?  Nothing.  But, it will entertain me as I stay up late working on Jack's birthday present.
3) I'll draw the winner Monday night at 8 pm PT, and will announce it here and on Facebook.
4) Sorry non-U.S. peeps, but this is open to United States residents only.

  16. The best movie I have seen is Pretty Woman, Funny thing is that I used to watched it day in and day out at my grandmothers house when I was in elementary school...yes you read right. And until I came across it on t.v recently (I'm 25 now) and watched it I had NEVER known she was a damn prostitute! When I called my grandma to ask her why she ever let me watch this movie as a kid she simply said " you never asked what she did so I never told you it was fine"....thanks grandma. The worst movie I have seen was Bullet to the head. I went with a bunch of male co-workers to see it and I came out of it thinking that I didn't know where the last hour and a half of my life went. There literally was no point to the movie and a bunch of scenes that made no sense and didn't pertain to the movie at all. It was bad...really bad. Although Sylvester Stallone's one liners were pretty funny there still was no point to the movie.

  17. This so totally Rocks! I have been wanting to try this for a while. I would also have to say my favorite movie is Pretty Woman, for me it was a grown up version of Cinderella with a bit of Breakfast at Tiffany's thrown in. As for movies I don't like, well generally speaking that would be any movie made in the last decade and a half....

Worst Movie: Lord of War with Nicholas Cage. Got up and left the theater when he started snorting cocaine mixed with gun powder. First time I've ever walked out of the theater- cuz I am just not into wasting money.

  71. I actually am not a tea fan, but I just wanted to jump on the fav/worst movie band wagon and share. My fav movie is a tie between: Princess Bride/Pride and Prejudice (only Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehl's version)/Ever After. The worst movie ever made has to be mashed up of Napolean Dynamite, Royal Tennanbaums, Life Aquatic and any serious/comedy that's supossed to be intellectual. It all comes across as just idiotic. Or horror movies that are no more scary than a gym sock that's been left to mold inside a bag for a year. Horror movies now a days are all about gore and thats not scarey...just grody. Yes...I went there.

The worst movie? Bebe's Kids. As part of her birthday present one year, my best friend picked the most awful animated film for us to watch to get back at me for all of the romantic comedies and sappy movies I made her sit through.

  81. Ohhh! I have been wanting to try this for a Kombucha for a while! I have just found my stride with water kefir (yumm) and homemade sauerkraut (really yum!)
This would definitely not go to waste in my house.

All time favorite movie--- THE BURBS :) Tom Hanks AHAHA I crack up just thinking about this movie. Love it. Goodness, though, it's hard to choose... anything with Steve Martin is so wonderfully hilarious... thinking The Jerk, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles :)
    The Burbs, final answer.

Worst movie... hmmm... I would have to say most of the romantic comedies that are released nowadays. I know that is a broad category and encompasses many films, but honestly they are all essentially the same movie! It's the same story line with just the names changed. For example-- The Wedding Planner. Very predictable and not all that funny.

  82. My favorite movie is hard to pin down but I have always loved Ever After with Drew Barrymore for the simple reason that she was not your typical Cinderella. She was passionate, fierce and everything a woman should be. She didn't need the prince, he was simply a bonus.
Worst movie would have to be Bridge to Terrabithia. My kids love this movie. I cry every single time they watch it and I think I've cried more over the little girl
s death than the parents on the movie cry. This bothers me.

  83. I've been dying to try making my own kombucha. That kit is awesome! One of my favorite movies is zookeeper with Kevin James. It got terrible reviews but I absolutely loved Nick Nolte as the ape. Worst movie - Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter.

  86. O_O!! That is a GORGEOUS set. Thanks for the opportunity to start something I could never afford on my own!! (college student from WI)

I don't typically have favorite anythings so I'll go with what I am addicted to right now.
Disney's Ratatouille. Not quite sure why but I have watched this like 3 times in the last month or so. Disney movies are just so damn comforting.
Least fav? (keeping with the kid theme) Wizard of Oz. That movie gives me nightmares. I think, it's the red eyes in the forest that does it.

  87. I love your sense of humor! My favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride. The fact that it is also my husband's favorite helped me fall in love with him. Any man that can admit that his favorite movie is one with Princess in the title and is about true love is a real man to me. The R.O.U.S.'s don't hurt either. The worst movie I have ever watched is Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion. it is now the bar we use to judge all bad movies we see and after many many years, it is still the worst movie we have seen. I was not allowed to select movies for a long time after that extreme error in judgement.

  91. I've always wanted to have my own Kombucha.. My MIL introduced me to it and I fell in love. Unfortunately I live in such a rural area that the closest store to sell the starters are a couple hours away.

I think my absolute favorite movie is Walk Hard (The Dewey Cox story)... I could watch that movie over and over and still be able to laugh through it every time. Worst movie would probably be The Strangers.
