Meal plan for January 6th-12th

Hello friends!  How has your week been?  We have been going a hundred miles per minute this week.  Troy's slower work schedule will be ending soon, and we're back to the suck fest of our normal schedule.  Le sigh.

We finished up the bathroom on New Years during my time off.  I'll be sharing photos later this week.  You're on the edge of your seats, right?

With all the work we had to do, it was so helpful to Jack assist us with our chores...
So efficient, right?

At the start of the week, I had a list about four dozen items long.  I'm down to just three things, and hopefully I'll be all done with them by Monday, because I'm working late on Tuesday, and we have friends coming on Wednesday.  I'm so excited for their visit, that I will very likely pee my pants.  My friend's husband and I collaborated via text to surprise her with tickets to Seattle for Hanukkah.  I love those kinds of surprises, and I already don't want them to leave on Saturday.

One of the things on my to do list was to clean out the huge box of photos we have had stored in the china cabinet for about five years.  During my search, I came across this gem:

It was a Christmas card that Troy and I sent out in 2007.  Let's just say, our friends got it, but older members of our family didn't sense the sarcasm.  We got a lot of "what a beautiful card" from those people...

Meal plan time!  Reminder, I only plan dinners.  My breakfast of choice has changed, and I'm now obsessed with homemade Greek yogurt with tons of cut up fresh fruit, and a homemade granola bar crumbled on top.  It's delicious and keeps me completely full and satisfied until lunch. Lunches are always leftovers.  We rarely eat dessert during the week, and our dinner drink of choice is water kefir soda.

Monday:: Pasta with snap peas, lemon, and parm, salad, and fruit.

Tuesday::  Polish cabbage noodles, salad, and fruit.  Originally, I was going to make taco bowls, but my sister mentioned the noodles, and it sounded pretty darn tasty.

Wednesday:: Dinner with our friends!!!  Taking them to Anthonys, which is a regional seafood restaurant.

Thursday:: Who knows!

Friday:: We're not having popcorn this week.  Can you believe it?  I'm making salmon cakes, lazy lady skillet potatoes, salad, and fruit.

Saturday:: Split pea soup with the amazing ham bone from Christmas that is in my freezer, and dutch oven bread.

Sunday:: Dinner with my side of the family.  We all bring sides, and my parent's provide the main event.

I spent about $68 at the grocery store this week, but I'm going to be dropping a shitload of coin at Costco later today.  I don't even want to think about it.

What are you having this week?
